System Advantage
NavCom's innovative Safari Networ provides a robust and cost-efficient solution to the communication challenges of remote work sights by creating a mobile, license-free, wireless broadband data network. Utilizing spread spectrum radio technology, the Safari Network offers a broad array of communication, location based and monitoring services for rugged, mobile work environments. Available in two models, the SR-7100 and SR-7120, the Network is easy to set-up, configure and manage intuitively from a single location by non-technical personnel.
PerformanceThe Safari Network is based on a Cellular architecture with each cell covering an area with radius of greater than 15 miles line-of-sight using omni directional antennas. Additional cells are easily added to extend the coverage area or overcome line-of-sight blockage with no affect on the overall network throughput. Continuous networking functionality allows seamless roaming within cells on the Network with no loss of connectivity. The system provides high data transmission rates in support of simultaneous communication services such as wireless data transmission, Internet, video streaming and Ethernet LAN. Both the SR-7100 and SR-7120 radio models come with all necessary cabling and a compact port expander with industry standard connectors to easily interface with existing office equipment and cabling devices. The SR-7100 and SR-7120 are packaged for various mounting configurations. Both systems are watertight and ruggedized to withstand environmental hazards such as dust, moisture, severe vibration and temperature extremes. BenefitsThe Safari Network creates a dedicated, private cellular communication network for both fixed and mobile assets within a localized area with no monthly or annual fees. The ability to receive real-time data from remote devices and automatic status reporting allow for better management of personnel and assets. Work-site efficiency improves significantly with the multi-tasking capabilities that come with connectivity while in the field, the ability to analyze vehicle health to predict and prevent vehicle failure and remotely monitoring field productivity within a secure, private wireless LAN. FlexibilityThe simultaneous support of multiple communication services presents users with the flexibility to customize the Safari Network according to business needs and growth. The Network concurrently allows for broadcast, point-to-point, multipoint-to-multipoint, wireless LAN, circuit and packet switched communication. Data rates are selectable at 96Kb, 240Kb and 512Kb, and three independent COM ports provide for synchronous/asynchronous serial communications as well as an Ethernet connection. The SR-7100 and SR-7120 models can be ordered with an optional integrated GPS. Customers may select a number of GPS receivers ranging from low cost single-frequency receivers to NavCom's high accuracy dual-frequency receiver. This integration with GPS is an ideal cost-effective solution in applications such as autonomous vehicle control using RTK and fleet management requiring both position data and wireless communications.
